Started in 1938 with nothing more than a shovel and a dump truck for hauling gravel, Paynesville Excavating, Inc. has grown to include residential and commercial work, septic system design and installation, utility work, demolition, and environmental remediation.
Begun as a part of Paynesville Motor and Transfer Company by Harold Putzke, Paynesville Excavating was later sold to Putke's employee, Mel Jones, in 1975 and has been a family-run excavation company ever since. Mel's son, Brian, has now taken over the controls and continues to provide quality, certified excavation services throughout central Minnesota.
